Tips For The Wedding

  • The wedding ceremony, cocktail service and dancing will take place outside in the Cuffari's garden, weather permitting. Guests may want to consider avoiding spike heels. As an alternative, click here to find heel protectors.
  • Please avoid driving to the wedding ceremony, if possible. Parking on King Street West is extremely limited and the Cuffari driveway will be in use by our vendors. Uber and taxis are readily available to take you to the wedding and we will be providing transportation to downtown Kingston at the end of the night.
  • If you are planning to dine out in downtown Kingston after happy hour, we advise making reservations in advance. See "Places To Eat" below for some recommendations.
  • Please check your health insurance policy to determine whether you and your family will have coverage in the event of an emergency during your visit to Canada.

Accommodations

General Information

We have reserved rooms at three hotels located about 20 minutes walking distance from the Cuffari's home.

All of the reservations have been made in Alison's name. When making your reservation, you must advise the booking agent that the reservation is under the name Alison Cuffari and that you wish to move the room(s) you are booking into a reservation in your name.

The rooms we reserved will be provided to guests on a first come, first serve basis by each hotel. To ensure that you get the room you want, please call the hotel of your choice as soon as possible and move a reservation into your name.

Please be advised that Queen's University is holding a large event in Kingston on the same weekend as the wedding and hotels are filling up quickly.

Getting To Kingston

All U.S. Citizens will need a passport to enter Canada:

Click here for instructions on how to apply for a passport. Click here to download the U.S. Passport application forms.

Driving To Kingston:

For our guests coming from New York City and Greater New Haven, we recommend driving rather than flying as it is more affordable and takes about the same time as a flight. Expect 6 1/2 to 7 hours of driving time, plus rest stops.

From Toronto or Montreal, expect about 3 hours of driving time or 2 hours by train. From Ottawa, expect about 2 hours of driving time.

Click here for a link to the Cuffari's home, where the ceremony and reception are taking place. Input your address for driving directions.

Flying To Kingston from the U.S.:

We only recommend flying if driving is impractical. The one airline serving Kingston is Air Canada and its partners, and all flights to Kingston leave from Toronto.

Love At French Toast

We met on the dating app Hinge. The photo above shows our first messages to each other. In his profile, Dennis said that one of the things he disliked about being single was not being able to justify making french toast for one. Alie was immediately drawn to the prospect of being on the recieving end of this breakfast treat. Shortly thereafter, we went on our first date, drinking whiskey at the Flatiron Room. Dennis was astounded at Alie's ability to keep up (in all respects). We had a blast and each of us knew that the person on the other side of that three hour conversation was someone special. We had no idea just how special.

After a few months of dating, we moved in together, mixing portraits of Wolverine with watercolors of the French countryside and antique brass with emo records. In the past 18 months, we have grown in love and respect for one other and have experienced some of the greatest joys and deepest sadness that life has to offer, traveling to Ireland to celebrate the wedding of Alison's brother, mourning the loss of Dennis's mother, getting to know and love each other's families and friends and doing our darndest to eat our way through the five boroughs of New York City.

We couldnt' be happier to celebrate our love for each other with the people in our lives whom we love so much. It is because of your friendship, support and influence that we became the two people we are, who met on the internet and fell in love.

This is what comes next.
